As a nonprofit arts center, we work year-round to provide a variety of arts-oriented opportunities to our community. Volunteers provide tremendous support to our arts education classes, concert series and Arts & Music Festival. Volunteers also help us to achieve our goals on individual projects by assisting with office work such as filing, mailings, computer work, and graphic design; working in the community, distributing posters and notices; and working outdoors doing painting and carpentry. We are always happy to hear about any skills and talents that volunteers are interested in contributing. With each new skill a volunteer offers, we have another opportunity to reach our goal of providing excellence in all artistic endeavors!
The volunteer commitment for individual projects is based on the time and skills that the individual would like to offer. Please contact the Events Coordinator, at (856) 358-2472, ext. 118 or via e-mail to inquire about projects that currently require volunteers or other opportunities for involvement.
WE WILL CONTINUE TO ACCEPT FESTIVAL VOLUNTEER
REGISTRATIONS PAST THE MAY 2nd DEADLINE
The Festival kicks off the beginning of the summer as an all-day event. Because it is outdoors, in a wide-open space, patrons come by the thousands to enjoy a day of great music, crafts, and children's activities. Volunteers are an essential part of helping this event to run smoothly by taking tickets, helping children with crafts, assisting with food service, working on stage crews, helping with recycling, peacekeeping, and much more. This is a wonderful, cooperative event, which has led volunteers from near and far to return year after year. We hope that you can join us! Please contact Jason Blacketer, Events Coordinator, at (800) 394-1211 with any questions.
Our Evening Concert Series and Family Matinée Series take place on weekends at either our intimate 250 seat on-site theatre or the Commerce Bank Arts Centre, a state-of-the-art 2,500-seat venue. One of the things that patrons enjoy most about Appel Farm events is the opportunity to see their favorite artists in these exceptional settings.
Arts Education volunteers are needed to work side by side with Appel Farm teaching artists in the studio. Volunteers spend their time prepping materials, reinforcing project directions to students, providing encouragement and assistance to students and cleaning and reorganizing supplies after class. Volunteers should be prepared to commit to assisting with one class for its duration. Classes typically run between eight and ten weeks. The weekly commitment for a volunteer is approximately 2 hours. Please contact Nicole Schaller, Director of Arts Education, at (800) 394-8478 ext. 108 with any questions.
Volunteers are essential in creating a friendly and accessible atmosphere that distinguishes Appel Farm events. They do this by acting as greeters, parking attendants, ushers, box office assistants, concessions assistants, peacekeepers and more. These shows are a great way for you to become acquainted with the Volunteer Program. At Appel Farm, up to 15 volunteers are needed at each Family Matinée and 20 for each Evening Concert. Please contact Jason Blacketer, Events Coordinator, at (800) 394-1211 with any questions.
