Sara Watkins will be familiar to many as one third of the acclaimed acoustic trio Nickel Creek. Currently on indefinite hiatus, the band members are pursuing solo projects. In keeping with the genre-busting attitude of her original band, Watkins chose former Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones as producer of her solo debut album. Recognized as a vocalist and fiddler, Watkins also plays ukulele and guitar. Her second album is due in April 2012.
