Reservation & Deposit Procedure

An initial deposit of $250.00 reserves the date and serves as a security deposit. A second deposit equivalent to 50% of the estimated total is due 90 days prior to the event. Balance of charges must be paid in full on the day of departure unless other arrangements are made in advance. Invoicing is based on the number of attendees contracted for. Additionally, the conference group will be charged for any persons attending over and above the contract minimum at the prevailing rate of the contract. The group will be invoiced for at least the minimum attendance contracted for – without exception.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation may be made by either party, without penalty, up to 120 days prior to the scheduled event. If a group cancels its reservation less than 120 days prior to the scheduled date, the initial deposit of $250.00 will be forfeited. If a group cancels within the 60 days of their reservation date, the first and second deposits are forfeited.

Damage/Clean-Up Assessment

Before the departure of each group, the Conference Center staff will perform a check-out inspection with the designated group leader(s). If any damage is discovered or clean-up is unacceptable, the group leader will be apprised of the damage and/or extra clean-up cost. The final cost to repair the damage of any clean up costs will be assessed in conjunction with the Conference Director, Executive Director of the Facility and/or the Properties Manager. Please refer to contract for further information.

Campfire Use

Campfires are permitted only when weather conditions and the NJ State Forestry Service permit. Each request is handled individually and permission is granted or denied ON THE DAY the campfire is scheduled.

Swimming Pool Use

Use of the swimming pool is seasonal. The group must provide their own lifeguard with proof of certification, including picture ID. There must be one lifeguard for every 20 people in the pool.

Theatre Use

The theatre may be rented with or without audio & stage lighting. However, only Appel Farm certified technicians may operate the in-house sound & lighting equipment. The theatre is small enough that it can be effectively used without in-house sound & lighting.
