Arts Education at Appel Farm
Since its beginning in 1960 as a summer camp, Appel Farm has been committed
to
creating opportunities for children to get involved in the arts. As we grew
over the decades,
we expanded our mission to include our surrounding communities
in a broad range of
year-round arts activities and events for all ages.
Classes at Appel Farm |
|
|
Arts classes at Appel Farm provide education and inspiration for area residents. Classes and workshops for children and adults are offered during the day, after school, evenings and on weekends. |
Outreach in our Communities |
|
|
We provide residencies
and workshops in
visual arts, theater and dance to elementary, middle schools and high
schools at low cost or no cost to students or schools. Our programs bring
high quality arts performances and arts programs to schools, cities,
small towns and rural areas in southwestern Camden, Gloucester, Salem
and Cumberland counties that have relatively few accessible and affordable
professional arts resources. |
Performances |

The Family Matinee Series is a popular Saturday afternoon activity for many families to enjoy together in the Clare Rostan Appel Theatre at Appel Farm. Groups who have performed at the Family Matinee Series include Trout Fishing in America, the New Jersey Shakespeare Festival, Theatreworks USA, the Pushcart Players, Opera on the Go and many others. |
With generous support from a wide circle of public, foundation, corporate
and individual funders, Appel Farm continues to serve larger and more
diverse
audiences and students every year.
