(Elmer, NJ) – New Jersey Theatre Alliance’s Stages Festival presents “Austin the Unstoppable” at Appel Farm
Appel Farm Arts & Music Center is excited to partner with George Street Playhouse for the production of Austin the Unstoppable, an hour long musical for the whole family on Sunday March 15, 2015 at 2:00 pm. Presented by New Jersey Theatre Alliance’s Stages Festival in partnership with Shaping-NJ, reigning master of the X-box and junk food junkie, eleven -year-old Austin must face the long-term consequences of an unhealthy lifestyle when he learns his mother has been diagnosed with Type II Diabetes. This fun, upbeat musical engages the audience in the benefits of a healthy diet and excercise by celebrating how positive change can occur through the power of love, hard work, and support.
Join Appel Farm as we partner with FoodCorps for a family fun cooking demo and healthy lunch prior to the show from12:00 noon to 1:30 pm. FoodCorps.org works to improve school food, promote locally grown produce and educate through school gardens. Tables from other organizations will also be on display at lunch so that the audience may learn more about healthy lifestyle topics such as diabetes, healthy cooking and more. Show tickets are FREE for children 14 and under and adults are only $5. Special cooking demo and lunch are only $7 for both adults and children.
