Called a “sensation” by Billboard magazine, hailed by The Irish Times who says that “she electrifies the crowd with a dazzling show of virtuoso playing” and with over 80 contemporary and traditional albums and numerous movie scores to her credit, Eileen Ivers takes her rightful place in the pantheon of world music artists for the ages. She is one of the great innovators and pioneers in the Celtic and World music genres, and is recognized as the pre-eminent exponent of the Irish fiddle on the scene today. Joined by her band, Immigrant Soul, Ivers will ignite the stage in a blaze of Irish music and culture in celebration of St. Patrick!

The daughter of Irish immigrants, Eileen Ivers grew up in the culturally diverse neighborhood of the Bronx, New York. Rooted in Irish traditional music since childhood, Eileen proceeded to win nine All-Ireland fiddle championships, a tenth on tenor banjo and over 30 championship medals, making her one of the most awarded persons ever to compete in these prestigious competitions. Join the artist in this intimate setting as she discusses her musical influences and her journey from her earliest experiences as a performer to her career in music today.

South Jersey native Nicole Pensiero has been writing about music professionally for more than 30 years. Her work has appeared in various publications, including the Philadelphia Inquirer, Courier-Post, Philadelphia City Paper, South Jersey Magazine and New Jersey Monthly. A longtime regular on WXPN’s former “critics’ choice” program, First Impression, Nicole has a special interest in world and roots music. Her many interviews with musicians include Joan Baez, Yoko Ono, Ziggy Marley, John Mayer, Chris Isaak and Peter Frampton.
