Vineland High Names Poetry Out Loud Champion

Standing center stage before a microphone, Francis Virtucio drew in a calming breath and defended his Poetry Out Loud title. After two rounds, judges moved Virtucio onto the regional competition scheduled for Feb. 21 at Appel Farm Arts & Music Center.

Arts-Integrated Charter School Set To Open In September

The tuition-free public school has already generated interest in the community. Public school teacher Melissa Bittle recognized the need for an innovative approach to schooling for her own child, Collin, a fifth grader.

Applications Now Open for Creativity CoLaboratory Charter School at Appel Farm

Applications are now open for the Creativity CoLaboratory Charter School, opening in September 2019 on the Appel Farm campus. The first arts-integrated charter school in South Jersey will accept 96 5th-8th grade students for their inaugural class.

Tuscan Students Create ‘I Am From/We Are From’ Video Performance Installation

Tuscan School received a grant from the Artists in Education Residency Grant Program (AIE) to engage with a professional Teaching Artist. The program is carried out in partnership with regional partners, including Appel Farm Arts & Music Center and Morris Arts.

Ending Foster Children Carrying Their Belongings In Trash Bags

Partnering with Appel Farm Arts and Music Center and Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), community member Elizabeth Ranson and her son, Trenton Fischer, raised $900 to donate duffel bags for foster children in South Jersey.

United Way of Delaware Tuesday announced that it has awarded grants totaling $10,000 to five Salem County non-profits, including Appel Farm Arts and Music Center.
